Omemee and District Horticultural Society is holding its "Annual Plant Sale” Saturday May 12, 2012 from 9:00 a.m to 12:00. at the Omemee Curling Recreation Club, James St. Omemee, Ontario. Come early for the best selection!
Last year, there was a large selection of Hostas any many other perennials, annuals,and houseplants, early shoppers had the best selection. You will want to definitely be there early if you hope to get any vegetables, as they go very quickly.
Be sure to check out and purchase this year’s “Plants of the Year”. Each year the Horticultural Society chooses a new plant to introduce. This year there are two new plants: a variety of Geranium, and a petunia.
Proceeds from Saturday’s Sale go towards the beautification of Omemee. Many people remark on the lovely planters and public gardens in Omemee. These gardens and planters are the results of the talented efforts of volunteers from the Omemee and District Horticultural Society.
If you would like to learn more about gardening, or share your passion for growing, Omemee and District Horticultural Society welcomes members from all areas. Yearly membership is only $12 for an individual, or $15 for a family. Membership forms will be available at Saturday's sale.

Greenshire Eco Farms, our closet farm participating in the 9th annual Kawartha Farmfest this weekend offers two days of Family filled fun! Updated Aug 12 noonTips collected at Knights of Columbus events in Downeyville are donated to the Omemee Food Bank. Every other Saturday afternoon, a progressive euchre is held at the Knights of Columbus Hall,St. Luke’s Road Downeyville. Euchre starts at 1 p.m. with lunch and refreshments available.
